JOSH COOK RE-JOINS ONE MOTORSPORT TO SPEARHEAD BTCC CHARGE

One Motorsport is delighted to welcome multiple race-winner and double Independent Drivers’ champion Josh Cook back to the team for the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.

Returning to the familiar surroundings of the Brackley-based outfit after a year away, the 33-year-old will spearhead the team’s comeback to the UK’s premier motorsport series driving a Honda Civic Type R that has undergone extensive development.

Cook’s affiliation with the team stretches back to 2019 where, over a five-year period, he enjoyed unprecedented success and in-turn established himself as one of the championship’s leading lights.

Claiming 16 of his 20 career race wins and a further 17 podium finishes under the One Motorsport banner, Cook secured back-to-back Independent Drivers’ titles with the squad in 2022 and 2023. He also played a critical role in clinching consecutive Independent Teams’ crowns as well.

The Bath-born racer will now look to add to his long list of accolades this year, which includes making his 300th BTCC start during the first half of the forthcoming campaign.

Josh Cook: “I’m thrilled to be returning to One Motorsport. This is where I’ve spent a large proportion of my BTCC career so to be coming back to familiar faces and surroundings, as well as a car that I know very well is a really exciting prospect.

“The Civic Type R wasn’t on the grid last year but the team have been busy chipping away on a number of key areas during the past 12 months. Along with the regulation changes that have been made, I think we can be optimistic of some great results over the course of the season.

“Executing the 2025 season is the immediate focus but this move back to the team is with the long-term view of laying down the foundations for 2026 and beyond. I want to be BTCC champion – simple as that.

“Going into the season I feel like I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in – both physically and mentally. I know what I need to do and I’ve got a fantastic team around me; all the ingredients are there and I’m confident this move is going to be the start of something special.”

Steve Dudman, Team Owner: “Josh is a class act and bringing him back into the One Motorsport fold was a key objective when we were setting the wheels in motion to return to the grid this year.

“There’s no denying that he has been fast and competitive in whatever he has driven, so to now reacquaint him with a car that has been refined over the past year is hugely exciting for everyone involved.

“We’ve enjoyed a vast amount of success together and the aim is to go and chase even more, starting this season. Despite operating at such a high level, I believe Josh can get even better so I’m looking forward to seeing what he can achieve on his return.”

Cook’s team-mate at One Motorsport will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season kicks off at Donington Park on April 26-27.
